am I asking a bit much?

I received a coolermaster atcs 630 micro atx case today (which I must say looks perfect but is a b@stard to work with) and it came with a 200w PSU.

The case is pretty packed so this tiny psu has to power:

mobo
P4 1.6
RAM
1x IDE HDD
CDROM
1x SATA HDD
2 fans
TV card
gigabit NIC

do you think it will cope?

If it’s a decent quality 200W, yes. My first shuttle had a 200W PSU, powering a similar spec and still had room for CPU overclocking.

I would have thought that spec yes

The industrial PC type PSU’s tend to be better than there ratings suggest
as there made to handle the hotter temps of a more confined restricted
system.

So you should have a genuine 200Watts on tap and not a peak power figure
which would fall someway short of 200Watts.

cool thanks guys

Just to add, I have one of these for my ‘working from home PC’. Again it only has a 200W PSU but it has never flinched at running:

Mobo with on-board everything
P4 2.8/800 (Northwood)
1GiB RAM
40GiB IDE HDD
DVD-RW
Matrox G550
Case Fan + CPU fan

Would have thought there would be a similar power draw.
