He survived Serge Betsen at full ramming speed.

Lets see plenty more of this in a few hours

Take you up on that Renata you traitor you

About 4 hrs now before kick-off here - beers on ice - pies in the oven ready - but …

Just take it all in - lots of good natured ribbing’s been going on here on both sides but … seeing you Poms haven’t won ONE WC in anything since 1966, some of us ex-convicts hope you win something - finally. At least, as Mojo says, just so you can get ya sporting self respect back in something and stop all the wingeing ya bin doing lately about it

There was a rumour going round here this week that you lot discovered an unusual white substance on the training pitch - cops were called, drug squad, etc. but it turns out it was just the unfamilar try line!

We all got to see all the games for free on free-to-air TV; the tickets are a bit pricey - scalpers - £1500+ for tonights final.

All 48 WC games have been shown on free-to-air. All the quarter-f’s and all major pool matches were shown live, with the rest of the pool ones (Namibia v Georgia, Canada v USA etc ) on delay.

Tonight, there are 7 live outdoor TV venues - not including outside the stadium itself - the front forecourt to the Opera House being the picturesque best (holds 10K) or, right under the Harbour Bridge (20K). Next to the Botanic Gardens might be the best bet - holds 100K sitting on the grass - bring ya rug and a beer picnic!

So it looks like over 150K people will be able to see the final for free in and around the harbour precinct. Most pubs are putting up free widescreen TVs too.

Really hope its a good, clean, free-flowing game like those of yesterday and hope you lot get to take Bill home (sorry, the William Webb Ellis trophy) - and finally you lot can put us in our place at something !!

PS - we enjoyed knocking the Kiwis out of the comp though !!

You Aussies whinge more than Pommies

I suppose you poms have to win something you can’t play cricket:p

Cricket, the worlds most boring sport Ever ?

Britain excels at fast moving sports like, errrrm, Curling :chuckle:

You read it wrong Vajras. Come on the aussies.

5-3 to Australia

:flip: Update England 14 Australia 5 at halftime:)

Yup i get it live here in the cold hard north:D

Even allowing for a fluffed try attempt when Dallaglio dropped the ball in the 24th minute, England look to be on course for a victory, we hope…

A very nice game England  Good to see they can pull out a good game when they need to  Grat final, close to the very end. Johnny wilkinson must be the best no10 in the world now with his stupendous drop and penalty kicking. Fantastic.

I guess this means all assuies get to know what loosing is like

Seems to be alot of people browsing the sports forum at the minute, wonder why. When your Dads Army have all retired we’ll win in back in 4 years.

Well done England;)
