Fedora Core 3 & networking

Ok just after an insight to the networking side of linux

Got machine’s here running FC3 and it obviously knows the network is present can surf the net and such likes just fine.

Now the M$ side of things I have certain shares to take advantage of the Shuttle that acts as my storage box.

Now I can navigate in Linux to the Windows Network but I do not get anything there after unlike Windows I’d see machines or shared folders depending how I’m viewing.

So any clues pointers would be most usefull.

Your /etc/samba/smb.conf controls the Windows networking equation. You need to edit the file to line it up with you Windows environment and reboot or restart the smb services on the box. THe minimal thing to do is if you use a work group is to line up those names.
