Online gaming is great, but the experience of attending a LAN being held in a pub with great food, drink and atmosphere - what is there not to like?
Yes, this is a post written by a human - me, not by AI and yes it’s a wake up to the Search Engines to see if we get some new members and some new people who want to attend a UK based esports / gaming LAN event. With multiple FPS games played, some tactical classics like Command & Conquer Red Alert there’s a game played to match all skill levels and all players.
We might even get some cake - which is not a lie, if you can remember how to play Portal or the revamped much tricker versions. Oh, the cake, well it’s a LAN date pretty close to a significant birthday, something to do with Hawai?
So when and where? UK Lan to be held at The Highwayman Inn, Elkstone and on the 20th (evening) and 21st February (all day) 2026.
What do you need - well, just you if you want to come say hello! If you want to play, you’ll need a laptop or pc+screen and a large library of Steam games. If you just want to see what it’s all about, come along - there could be a VR setup for you to try, a gamer might let you play while they eat/drink, you could be part of a multiplayer game on the projector.
Friday from 5pm to 11pm. Saturday 10:30am to 11pm.
Just this once
no entry fee - but I hope you will spend a few pound at the bar for drinks and meal.
Looking forward to it. Almost as much as I’m looking forward to TFW responding with a much better reply that will get the bots all over this post. AI generated what?
