Boiler is fixed and we’ve been out in the Golf for a drive, the 2.0TDI and a nice little car. Not sure it warrants the price tag over other cars in the same range in respect of the mileage we do. When a same year Ford is half the price, less mileage and we all still fit. Build quality may not be up there with the Golf and the feel is different, but the premium you pay for the Golf over all the other cars in that range seems excessive, especially when many of them are VW underneath anyway.
I wasn’t instantly pulled into buying it, nice and had some pull to it for sure, unlike the current 1.5DCI 2002 Clio, but it didn’t tick enough boxes for the price. So much useless rubbish on the car that is just not needed, I agree completely with TFW above. Small minicar and split controls for air-con left and right of the car, give me a break <sighs>
