Work starts in £15m plan to get Concorde flying again – BBC News item

Here’s a question for Damski etc.

The Olympus engine is used as a marine turbine power plant. How does an engine which is effectively a huge exhaust power a ship?

I’m assuming the exhaust flow ‘windmills’ an electrical generator, but does anyone know exactly what it does? Internet info is strangely sparse.

Made me think as well , found a description here.
