Remember the windows 98 on air bluescreen?,
Well this is better and more up to date

Vista gone wrong!! :stuck_out_tongue:

:chuckle:

Having tried to use the Voice recognition in windows vista, yes it really is that bad, if not worse when I tried it :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh dear. Guess they’d better stick to typing

Hmmm… OS/2 Warp 4 had voice recognition built in. And that was 1996. So, ten years later Microsoft is still trying to prove they can do what OS/2 could. Absolutely amazing…

The point here isn’t does it have it, but does it work? Was the one in OS/2 any good? Well, if it was any use, where is it now? IBM’s viavoice package sucks, but to be fair, it sucks equally to its competitors.

I’ve tried voice recognition on and off through the years, and they never work well enough even with training in a noise free environment. Typing is still a lot faster.

The only time voice recognition can almost work ok is when you have a very limited or fixed structure word set.

If you want a fun game, just talk into any modern voice regonition package that uses context based accuracy “enhancements”. It is amazing the sentances they can come up with that have all the words wrong yet sound phonetically similar to what you really said. Unfortunately the fun only lasts a short time before you uninstall it.

Voice regonition certainly has come on through the years. But it is still far from being efficiently usable for free text entry.
