What about the swede?

Old turnip-features has been getting all the limelight, so it’s time to stick up for the underdog!

Swedes are a globular root, yellow and purple in colour with yellow flesh. They have a milder flavour than turnips. They are a good source of fibre, vitamins A, C and folic acid.

And they make good jack’o’lanterns if you were a poor kid like we were! Pumpkins…pah! Swede on a string, that’s where the action is!

Roll on Halloween!!!

Mmmm… Swede with mash potatoes and haggis - yummy
