Yup - but have spent a lot of money on this engine already - as it was supposed to be going into something else (TR7…)
And If I were to sell - I wouldnt get the money back.
Hopefully, If it all goes well - im aiming to run in CCSE, as a lot of the engine is based around Alan Simms old motor - who was running 10’s in a 3.9 and 9’s in a 5.1 with wildcat heads.

Hey, those are still nice trucks! I have a '89, was thinking about a '99 GMC Serria extended cab, 5.3L Vortec V8, loaded, for $8900. While it IS nice, I’m still wondering if it’s worth it, mines a nice truck still, just needs a little work, and I could easily use the money that I’d pay for the '99 to make mine run even faster and fix up the interior and a new (black) paint job.

Don’t have a licence yet, soon my pretty.

Nice machine Vondi and remarkably ‘clean’. Used to have a MkIII. Excitingly twitchy handling, you can have great fun even at modest speeds on the right road.
The one I’ve got now is quick @ 175BHP but not nearly as much fun round the corners.

Cheers

It’s got all manner of gubbins stuck on it by the previous owner. It’s got brand new Spax adjustable suspension and totally rebuilt mechanics.

Although… he replaced the carbs… on this 25 yr old engine with Webber 40 DCOE’s

It makes a hell of a noise, but doesn’t really go all that fast. Sillyness. I can’t really afford to replace them though :frowning:

Its a nice easy engine to work on or better still to sit on the front wheel with a cup of coffee, polishing rag and a tin of WD40

Time was you could get a set of 1-1/4" SUs as cheap as anything but I spose the’re a bit scarcer now with all that injection stuff but still worth doing when you can IMO. Try the Triumph Sporting 6 Club.
