A warning to those above me ;)

Added a 3080 TI to the mix…

My current GPU is a GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop chip. The new laptop on order has a Geforce RTX 4090 Laptop chip (16GB Ram). The delivery date has been moved up to March 6. That’s much better than March 28.

That is a better result for sure. I’m interested to see what a laptop 4090 will do. I think their performance is very similar to a desktop 4080 but I may be wrong.

The new laptop is all by itself this morning (yesterday was a mish-mash as I was transferring data from the old to the new.) You can evaluate my stats starting today for just the following settings:

  • Intel Core i9 14900HX 31 of 32 cores working a WU
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 16GB GDDR6 working a WU

P.S. Default clock settings. No overclocking for the CPUs or the GPU. Current sensor readings are: GPU at 86% utilization, 68°C and the CPU at 52% utilization.

Looking good, you seem to have picked up quite nicely.

My 3080TI has failed its last 7 WU’s most of which were over 70% complete :frowning:

Not sure exactly what the issue was but I’ve updated the GPU driver and rebooted the machine. Seems a better now.

I’ve had a few stop early and I had one that went to 100% but was rejected when it was uploaded, but otherwise they’ve all been churning out like clockwork.

The 4090 just finished a WU where 10% was completed in 7 minutes and 21 seconds. Final runtime for the WU was 1 hour 13 minutes. (Project 17923)
The CPU last ran a WU in 4 hours 58 minutes. (Project 18494)

I think it was a driver issue, all seems good now

Well, I just had a 645000 point WU fail at 98.3% on my 3080TI :frowning:

No idea what is going on

Well the old laptop arrived at the repair depot yesterday. Hopefully they can address the RTC Power issue quickly and send it back. Then I’ll remove all the unnecessary stuff from the SSD and just have it working WUs in the corner.
