No work, but what the hell. Been out cutting grass and getting a bit of sun, chatting to my new neighbours and now just sat down with a snack of crisps and a chilled can of Strongbow.
Sun is shining, so spent a bit of time outside reading and chilling with a cold cider, what more could you wish for
Pretty much the same here, got an extended 5 day weekend for one days holiday so have cut the lawn, walked the dog and enjoyed the sun, sat here with a can from the fridge and thinking now of sparking up the chiminea for a nice fire filled evening sat outside!
Was a good night for burning junk and logs from the conifers we cut down when we moved in. Nice clear skies too for a bit of stargazing, just a shame about the light pollution in our area!
Spent yesterday pottering around on our local steam train in the sun for our wedding anniversary, all in all a lovely little break!
We ignored the grass (it’s not quite got to six inches) and disappeared up north to see the in-laws. Kids party on Saturday and touring round the Trough of Bowland with the hood down on Sunday.
Nothing fancy, we went the mini mpv route as wanted something more practical, more economical and safer than my old renault 5. The renault modus fit the bill for us as it’s still a small car (it’s a clio chassis) yet is 5 door, and is a comfortable 4 seater or reasonable 5 seater. Already having trouble with the awkward to get to diesel engine though, it’s going in tomorrow to hopefully find out what’s wrong with it
Yup, in the modus there’s three different power ratings in the 1.5dci, 65-86-106, we got the 86 as this for some reason is the only one that is £30 a year tax. Took some finding to find one with the right spec/engine/price, but probably going to find out when diagnosed why it was reasonably priced. Should get decent mpg and hopefully save some money on fuel but servicing, maintaining and fixing will be more expensive.
It’s a nice comfortable driving position for me and it feels so much larger than it is with the higher roofline. The ride is no where near as harsh as mum and dad’s clio as it’s not got low profile tyres but still handles well enough for me
