I use both the free and payed for versions at work and home of avg. the payed for server vesion only cost $ 50 and works well on my exchange server even finding some my predelevery scaning service misses.
The program has its faults like the ocisinal bad update but mostly it works, and is a lot better than haveing no anti virus at all.

:haha: :haha:
Installed AVG on my laptop since the Norton that came with it expired. Ran the scan and found 1 virus! Norton had not caught it. Bummer is; the virus was on some of the default software that HP put on the laptop. That means that HP installed a virus for me  !
I used the AVG to scan the rest of my network and all came up clean. I think I’ll keep AVG on the laptop and Norton (paid subscription) on the gaming machine. I can scan the network with either, so I’ll have cross checking capability.
ive used AVG in the past and it HASNT picked up viruses like other website virus scanners. Although I’ve used it on the bosses pc which had 12 diff viruses and over 1000 infected files. still cleaned it all up
I used Trend PCillin, but it made my rig unstable(tended to reboot). Now i use avg.
Well i run McAfee Viruscan Online.
A product only available over the web.
It does REAL live updates ( 3 or 4 a day sometimes ), is unobtrusive and works.
I THOUGHT IT WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO JUSTIFY PURCHASE, SO I PAYED FOR IT ! :scared:
anyway, my 2p worth…

Heh, turned out the program hadn’t updated properly. Restarted AVG, updated again, full scan took 70m and was all clean :).
Still having problems writing DVDs though
