Anybody else...

Been getting tired of internet recently? The past month or so I’ve found myself less and less interested in the internet and the computer. A few months ago I pretty much stopped posting at one forum, have now pretty much stopped posting at AMDMB, even haven’t done anything for the website I’m associate editor for. Slowed down here a bit maybe. Just been working, riding motorcycle, and hanging with friends more. Feels good sometimes being away from the computer ( ). Could be of a girl I met a few weeks ago, but it was coming on before that.

Perhaps it is just that summer is coming to a close, college is starting back in a couple of weeks and I know I’m not going to have just a whole lot of time to do all this extra stuff.

 Anybody got some pills that’ll help?:amstupid:

:smackbum:

See Dr SpeedyJ for Custard therapy, he’ll cure you.
I was going to suggest Donna or Liz, but they’d Kill you, well,
Donna could save you on the price of a coffin

Still posting, but my interest in “computers” has all but gone. We now only have 2 x p2-400 rigs in the house, the one I’m using now, and Lisas machine.

Life’s too short to spend all of it on the pc.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking.

Well I spend 8-14 hours a day working on them. so it is not really an option here.

Think its the weather. Sat in a darkened room with fans chuffing out yet more heat. :frowning:

Recon I’ll be more enthusiastic come the winter.

Yeah, I’ve been tired of computers as a hobby for a while now. I’ve slowly sold off some extra bits and I’m thinking of selling more.

Sitting in front of a computer trying to get every last ounce of performance is just not as fun as it once was. On top of that, XS.org seems to have changed(or maybe it’s just me)… too much competition and not as much help as there once was. I guess it’s the same old “the bigger something gets… the less personal the experience”.

So yes… I also feel that way.

I totally agree! Overclocking has almost become the norm…where’s the skill gone?

MAOJC, it’s different if you’re working I suppose. Mind you, if I’d been sat behind a pc at work all day, I guess sitting in front of one all evening wouldn’t be particularly appealing. Square eyes!

:scared: There are people that don’t sit in front of computers all day and all night ???

Slackers

Yep totally agree with you Noah

Speaking of this, I’m going to get my cyber-butt up and get out in the nice weather and ride the motorcycle. I like riding it to a little town 15 miles from here, stop at one of the gas stations and pick up a root beer and drink it, then drive back. Even though there’s a station half a mile from here:rolleyes: It’s not the destination, it’s the drive.

I know what you mean, lately it feels like every forum/site I go to has slowed down - there just doesnt seem to be the same amount of activity on the internet that there used to be.

Maybe its the weather, everyone is spending more time outside doing things in the sunshine and less time BSing across the 'net.

My 3 year old son and I go for rides like that all the time. I’ll just put him in the truck and drive to get a soda and M&M’s or an ice cream or a Slush Puppie or whatever. The longest we’ve been gone is a bit over 4 hrs because of an air show we happened upon. We honestly just went out for a ride and by the time the afternoon was done we had front row seats at the “day before practice” for the airshow. We even met one of the Navy jet fighter pilots and he autographed a trading card for me… errr… my son.

You should feel the power of a jet at about 100 yards when it decides to throttle up and go straight up to 14,000ft. Boy oh boy did it do “it” for me.

At any rate, sounds like you’ve been chained to the computer for a bit too long Noahm… go out and get some fresh air for a while.

Impressive isnt it? I’ve been to the Southed airshow where they fly low along the river estuary not a long way off the promenade. Last year the tide was in and apparently the Tornado pilot got close enough that when he stood the machine on its tail and hit the afterburners half the people on the promenade got showered.

Whats even more impressive is when a Harrier hovers there just offshore and goes sideways along the length of the display area
