iv been there once, its bloody cold, really really smeggin cold, colder than a cold thing thats been kept in deep space for a lifetime… other than that it looks much like every other town in the uk

It’s a wonderful place. Credible town with plethora of shops, and a short journey to the rolling hills of picturesque North Yorkshire.
I guess it will depend on what you are going there for - Uni, Work, Retirement?
the Uni is very good with a lot of Student places nearby.
Obviously you will get trouble in town, but there are few towns where you DON;T on a Fri/Sat night, and I guess if you stay out of the obvious trouble spots then it’s perfectly acceptable.
It’s not THAT cold - honest!

Chances are we wouldn’t be out at weekends anyway as we’ve got the 3 kids. We’re looking to move as the council up there has advertised 4 x 3 bed houses and we’ve got about a 4 year wait to get one here

errr…did i forget to mention that the prices of EVERYTHING are a damn site cheaper up North than down South
I live in Sunderland - just up the A19 from Middlesbrough - there are alot of things to do around and about - and it is so much cheaper to live up here in the frozen north.
Like anywhere there are good areas and bad ones - my suggestion come up and have a good look and then decide.
One down side everyone seems to drive Corsa and badly at that. :eek:
I am originally from Hartlepool, no Monkey Hanging jokes please, I have lots of spare rope handy.
Boro is quite a decent place, depends on what area it is the houses are.
Like any place there are the problem area,s.
Excellent placed for coast and moors, bloody nice scenery.
At least there’s hills there, in Norfolk there are few.
