Anyone with kids.......

Do you remember February 1993 when a young 3 yr old was taken from a shopping mall in Liverpool by two 10-year-old boys?
Jamie Bulger walked away from his mother for only a second and Jon Venables took his hand and led him out of the mall with his friend Robert Thompson. They took Jamie on a walk for over 2 and a half miles, along the way stopping every now and again to torture the poor little boy who was crying constantly for his mommy. Finally they stopped at a railway track where
they brutally kicked him, threw stones at him, rubbed paint in his eyes and pushed batteries up his anus. It was actually worse than this…

What these two boys did was so horrendous that Jamie’s mother was forbidden to identify his body. They then left his beaten small body on the tracks so a train could run him over to hide the mess they had created.
These two boys, even being boys, understood what they did was
wrong, hence trying to make it look ! like an accident.
This week Lady Justice Butler-Sloss has awarded the two boys anonymity for the rest of their lives when they leave custody with new identities. We cannot let this happen. They will also leave early this year only serving just over half of their sentence.
One paper even stated that Robert may go on to University. They are getting away with their crime. They disgustingly and violently took Jamie’s life away - in return they each get a new life.
Please read it carefully… then add your name at the
end… and send it to everyone you can! Please add your name and location to the list and send it to friends and family. Please copy this e-mail (highlight text, right click, copy and paste into a new email) instead of forwarding so we do not get arrows at the beginning of the sentences.

If you are the 300th person to sign, please forward this e-mail to: cust.ser.cs@gtnet.gov.uk and attention it to Lady Justice Butler-Sloss.

Then start the list over again and send to your
friends and family. The Love-Bug virus took less that 72 hours to reach the world. I hope this one does as well. We need to protect our family and friends from creatures like Robert and Jon. One day they may be living next to you and your small children, without your knowledge. If Robert and Jon could be so evil at 10 years old, imagine what they could do as adults!

Call me cynical, but this isn’t going to change anything.

@ Bibby - well Mr. Cynical, trying doesn’t do any harm. the ‘silent majority’ in this country needs to shake up our overly liberal do-gooding legal system, and if this will help even a tiny fraction in stopping something like this happening again then i’ll support it.

in some parts of the States, the little gits would have been lynched, here we spend millions rehabilitating them. i know they were only ten years old, but come on! that was psycho/sociopathic behaviour by any standards.

what was the worst YOU or I did at that age? theres a difference between pulling the wings off a fly and what they did to that child

Hey, I don’t disagree with you m8, but this country is over-run with do-gooders. Gone from one extreme to the other.

What did their parents have to say on the matter? I believe they should have accepted some level of responsibility for their kids actions?

simple put

This sickens my heart and makes me wonder about the society we live in. How do some parents simply get away with the “he was born bad” attitude when many scientific and knowledgable people have shown that things in early life really do affect later life standards.

I’m not sure I agree on the lynch mob, but I do think these kids have massive issues that they can probably put underground mentaly… the real qeuestion being how long for

This question should be the real one - can we trust these kids to be adults in the society we accept now ? With the greatest respect to those who can on this gods Earth forgive, how many times can people be forgiven?? The simple doubt that this may develop into a adult obsession or behaviour scares me silly

I hate to appear selfish, but it makes me feel happier every day I wake up and find my children are to the best of my ability living in a safe and secure environment.

DT.

They did terrible things but…

They are now 20/21 alot of time has passed 10/11 YEARS

Are these now adults the same people they were at 10 ???

Is their outlook on life the same as when they were 10 ???

Do they know the differenece now of right and wrong ???

Do they regret doing what they did ???

Would they do it again ???

Those people on that list would not know who these people
are today as individuals are these 20/21 year old anything
like they were at 10 ?

Not for me to say or judge I don’t know !!! they did a terrible thing
but a lot of time has passed question is what are they like now?

Would I be condeming people who lifes have changed alot since
all those years ago?

Can all those signing the partition honestly say what these
people are like today compared to how they were at 10 ?

I cannot can you ?

@Hids, if you agree, add your name to the list, copy it to an email and send it to everyone you know please? then number 300 emails it to our nambly-pambly Judge Shloss,
cheers
Keith

I’m sure there was a bit of an expose on the pair just a couple of years ago in the papers, they were still “boasting” about what they’d done and that they showed absolutely no remorse etc.

I’m all for giving people a chance, but I fear these two are just a little too far gone… :frowning:

Just a waste of tax payers money,
they should have been shot from the beginning.

Idem.

The thing is, you know they’ll never be completely safe - their new identities will leak out. And when that happens, you know they’ll get lynched by the James’ parents/family… I know I’d go after the pair if they had done that to my son.

Hopefully the media can finally do something useful and work out where they are and publish it.

Then justice can be served.

And yes I’m fully with Neal that Captial Punishment should be reintroduced.

The internet is a far more powerful medium these days, I think. Just a whisper of where they are and it’ll be on every server across the world in an instant.

Bringing this up does nothing to help the Bulger family.

However, letting the offenders have such an easy time and seemingly escape any meaningful punishment doesn’t act as a deterrent for anyone twisted enough to copy them.

So what would be an effective punishment ?

Capital punishment would have saved the taxpayers money but mistakes can be made.

A good old fashioned treatment like the birch, applied in public, until genuine remorse can be seen would be a start.

I bet there would be no shortage of volunteers either.

I somehow doubt there would be enough birch trees in the UK. Then you have to look at the deforestation affect of that kind of punishment

For capital punishment to get the green light again, cases would have to be proved 110% correct. If someone fatally stabs someone in full view of a group of passing police officers, who also happen to have a camcorder that videos the accused telling their victim “I’m going to murder you, you b@stard” then it’s pretty much a cert that they intended to commit murder.

No capital punishment bill could come into force unless there were extremely tight rules and guidelines on passing that sort of judgement.
