Anyone know if there’s a simple way of showing the area under a graph in excel without resorting to nasty formulas such as Simpson’s rule?
I have a graph of CO2 Concentration over time and by finding the area under the curve, I can get the total CO2 produced.
A quick Yahoo found THIS
Don’t know if it will help at all.
Use trapezoid or rectangle calcs as Droid found, using integrals is not hugely more accurate and is more work http://www.duncanwil.co.uk/areacurv.html
I did it using Simpsons rule in the end.
It gave me a better mark from my project supervisor who taught me it in the first place!
