Question: How many TPR members does it take to change a light bulb?

Answers:

1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed.

34 to share their similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed.

27 to point out the spelling/grammatical errors in the original post about changing light bulbs.

7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.

41 to correct spelling/grammar flames.

6 to argue over whether it’s “lightbulb” or “light bulb” …

6 to condemn those 6 as being totally anally-retentive.

2 industry professionals to inform all TPR members that the proper term is really “lamp” & not lightbulb.

27 to post various random URLs where one can see examples of all the different light bulbs.

12 to post to all the TPR members that they will no longer tolerate these posts because they cannot handle this light bulb controversy.

4 to suggest that all posters read the TPR light bulb FAQ.

44 to then ask, "What’s a “FAQ”.

2 to post reasons why the light bulb burning out is the result of a USA/EU/NATO/UAE/Saddam/Mao Tse Tun/Jean-Marie Le Pen/Jacques Chirac/Vladimir Putin government conspiracy.

4 to say “Haven’t we gone through this ad infinitim already?”

43 to say “Hey Dude, D’oh, Google light bulbs”.

1 lurker (me :D) to respond to the original post 6 months later and start the whole thing all over again !

And, for the various and changing Mods: feel free to move this to “where-ever”

OK, that it!

I want some of what you have taken  :stuck_out_tongue:

you forgot the :spam: ers

Is that “:spam: ers” or “:spam:-ers”?

That’s “spelled”, not “spelt”.

1 to pick a fight with the thread starter over some harmless part of his post

Who you calling a MEMBER Sonny Jim ?

. . . . . . Takes off his coat

One to demand an adult thread be established to discuss more creative ways the light bulb could have been changed.

As long as it’s not a light bulb at work, if you have an accident you’re not covered by the company insurance. I learnt that when i started working for the police:D

You forgot…

Plus+

Someone to ask for a dedicated lightbulb forum or even
a private forum for those special lightbulb questions

& the associated polls

Thought I would dig this one out

:chuckle:

Blast from the past… 3 years old! :wolram:

Ha! cute…

But drezha… you shouldn’t raise the dead.

…and its lightbulb

Vajras is a very naughty poster - but MilkyWay@Home user of the day so get’s a thread bump

DT.

Way too much time on your hands!!

Technically its a lamp not a lightbulb or light bulb.

  • Oh and its fitted into a luminaire.

What one of these? Congrats to Vajras

Definitely worth a thread revival :chuckle:

And 1 that will argue that it should be called a “lamp” and not a “lightbulb” because bulbs are for planting… this is what happens when you work with anally retentive electricians!!!

incandescent light globe[/QUOTE]

Surely that would be ILG with your love of acronyms on that side of the pond ? :stuck_out_tongue:
