My serious crucnching BOINC days are over for the while…
My parents have decreed that my computer is to be turned off at nights (It’ll be turned on after the goto bed mind… ) and that it’s to be off during the day…
The consequnces if it’s caught on again during the day etc? (Usually I’d break the rules…)
My PC taken out of my room and deposited in another less “private” room. ie a room where they can keep an eye on me…This you might agree is a lot worse so I’ll be keeping my BOINC habits a bit low as for now…
(they see this as a waste of electricity…nothing will persuade them otherwise) :mad:
Time to get out those leccy comparisons. My parents once did a similiar thing to me, rather than have the computer on, I made a point of “forgetting” to turn the lights off.

I have Virus scans to run on Monday evening’s and Thursday evening (my cadet nights) so I could try to get away with 1 a week…as I ususllay come home and find it switched off anyhow…
I listen to my music on the PC so…whenever I’m working at home, it’s on…
i paid my own leccy bills and mum used to nag me from 300 miles away, complaining about the fan noise on her last visit
(9 pc’s dont make that much noise do they? )
crunch what you can, personally i swapped to BOINC and had so much trouble i dismantled the whole lot, sold most of it, don’t crunch any more (one day when i have a disposable income maybe!), and just pop in here when i can. don’t worry about it, its not RL anyway!
