BOINC Remote Control

How come this has never been posted before?!
Something I’ve wanted to do for a while! Saves using VNC all the time:rolleyes:

Off to try I think. Believe Peige uses theis system already…at least that’s what it looked like at Mojo’s

I used it, it has been around since the start, hence the “Select Computer” option in the Boinc Manager. Also this is how BoincView is used to control multiple instances all at once instead of using “Select Computer” every time.

DT.

It may have been aroundsince the start but I’ve not seen it posted on here on how to do it…

As DT says, this is how BOINCView works and I fail to see how anyone can control even a medium sized farm like mine without it.

Just shows SSL thought abount BOINC when they designed it.

Does that mean you’ve got to use this to set up the clients before you even use BOINC View?

I’ll install and run BOINC view and 5 minutes later I wont be able to select any computers…

I saw on the BOINC add in page a php setup to do this via a web server as well. I think I will give it a try, then I can sutdown the windows box.

i only run 4 machines and i couldn’t live without BoincView

Anyone lend a hand?

I cant get this to work with my Windows 2000 machine :frowning:

It decides it wont add the line to the service start up parameters… It’s installed as a service exactly as described above… except as I said, I type it in and click OK and it wont allow it

This is like a gift that “keeps on giving”.

I finally used this post to set up my 2 computers (both WinXP). Works great!
I couldn’t find this information anywhere else.

Thanks drezha!
