Just came across this project while looking for something to feed my GPUs other than yet more folding. Don’t really see much of a point behind it so probably wont stick around it for long, but I’m still amazed by what GPUs can do.
Estimated time per unit on Core 2 @2.4 GHz: 13 hours - Manually calculated based on partial runtime, not the boinc estimate which was showing 100+ hours. I aborted it since the GTS450 does it in about 20 minutes! Even the old 9500GT is looking at around 3 hours runtime.
I’m about to put it on the AMD integrated HD4200 since that reports being GPU capable just to see what that does… Edit: Now its part way in I’d estimate 8 hours 20 minutes a unit on that. If it doesn’t take significant CPU power away from other stuff I might keep that going.
