It will soon be the time for the computer give-away, as you will already know Mojo has donated a Quad core computer to go to the user deemed to be the most beneficial to the folding challenge that has been running, to give me an idea of whats what I’m looking for ideas, nominations.etc, so post away.
We’ve got a bunch of folks who are active crunchers and chugging right along. Good number of suportive folks in that batch who also encourage and help others here on the boards.
Curly, you’re definitely on my list, but there are a few others that I think would also qualify: Peige, WheelieSlug, MrTFWitt, drezha, TheDirts, Danthemanic and Mojo (granted he’s the donor ) have all been putting in a fair number of units over the course of the challenge.
Been Crunching it for god knows how long staying with the project and working hard to get people interested, pimping at every opertunity and also supplying the stats for as long as I can remember
I think you have a very difficult job there, Curly. There are a core of about 30 active crunchers most of whom, I suspect, Fold on all the machines they have available to them and no-one should be penalised because they do not have access to lots of top-of-the-range PCs. I would suggest that you stick the names of the regular folders into a hat and draw one out.
I just want to throw something else into the pot. If running costs are an issue for whomever is chosen to get the box, I’ll have a 24/7 spot for a cruncher rig, all running costs sorted.
We are looking at getting another office in our building to place all our test rigs, I think I’ve mentioned the 8 machines elsewhere that we’ll have. One more connected into the power and network wouldn’t be an issue and then we could alternate who it crunches for if you wished I’ll know for sure early January once we’ve finished negotiating a price for the room.

While I appreciate the vote, I feel I haven’t been 100% on Folding for the majority of the challenge.
While I’d like a Quad core, I’m not sure I deserve it for the contribution I put towards the challenge.
I don’t know how Curly’s gonna play it but if you think I’ve put in enough effort to warrant it, thats cool but if you don’t, I fully understand.
I’d like also to remove myself from the nominations, if it got the PC I couldn’t really run it 24/7 and to be fair there are others who would enjoy and use it more
I my opinion Drez and Curly are runners in my eyes, Curly for obvious reasons, Drez for all round contribution to crunching and to the forum.
"I’d like also to remove myself from the nominations, if it got the PC I couldn’t really run it 24/7 and to be fair there are others who would enjoy and use it more "
Looks like people are dropping out all over the place.
Whilst I can give the rig a new home, and can run it 24/7, (the other 3 all run 24/7 barring a 2 week holiday in the summer) and it would be a nice upgrade to the Athlon XP 1700. I believe Curly HAS done more valuble work than I to warrant him winning it.
I seem to remember the wording saying ‘most valuable’ between two specified dates not after it finished. On that basis Curly definately gets my vote.
I’m not ruling myself out, but I think Curly deserves it more.
In order to support this vote for curly just look at the postings in the folding forum for the last month.
Dreza did one new thread, every other was Curly
