Spyware kingpin ordered to cough up $4m
"The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has wrapped up its first major spyware lawsuit with a $4m judgment against spam king-turned-spyware master Sanford Wallace.
A judge in the US District Court for the District of New Hampshire has ordered Wallace and his company, Smartbot.net, to give up $4,089,500 in ill-gotten gains, the agency said on Thursday."
So all those users who we end up helping out could well be conributing to someones back pocket. I’m presuming that is $4mill in bottom line proift after costs, which in my opinion should not include the salaries, but I’ve not been able to track that down.
