Ummm. Just out of curiosity.

I’m wondering whether just pulling in the stats is a sufficient progress indicator anymore? I keep a rough eye on the Seti site, and from what I can see, the scoring system has been altered, and over the last month, there’s the the 3 day outages (to do the science), often followed by weekend downtime.

I’m quite embarrassed to find myself in the ‘top tens’ of anything here. I’m very much ‘run in the background’ using what is now an aged C2D with an 8800 GTS which chucks out anything that needs more than 250 mem.

It’s just plain silly.

Is there a, admittedly more complex, fairer way of pulling stats in?

I wonder too, if the lack of activity around here is due to peeps, who are used to being high scorers pulling out due to the new regime at boinc? Just a thought.
