Decisions, decisions....

I have 3 XP1600’s left over from upgrading and building new rigs…

Do I:

[ul][]Use them to build more crunchers ? :D[]Flog them and put the proceeds towards paying off the extortionate electrity bill that is already big enough to put some small countries to shame :chin:[*]Flog them and put the proceeds towards an nForce2 / Barton 2500 system [/ul]

Black Dragon - Dual XP2400 - dedicated cruncher
Silver Dragon - Dual XP2400 - dedicated cruncher
Caseless so far - Dual XP2000 - dedicated cruncher
CM200 - Dual XP1800 - previously mentioned server
Generic case - XP1800 - dedicated cruncher
Generic case - XP1800 - dedicated cruncher (mobo with ebuyer being RMA’d)
Shuttle - XP2000 - Shuttle (Main Rig)

About 19.15 Ghz / 480-490 wu’s a week on full steam

And all home machines too now works rigs are 100% out of bounds.

And to think about 3 months ago I was getting tired of SETI & was going to downgrade to just one dualie & an nForce 2 …

I guess you’ve decided a dual XP 2400 is a good cruncher for the money. How do I put one together? I can re ask this in the hardware thread if it’s a long answer.

Hmm, I’d say sell them myself.
But then again, I am slightly biased about it.

:nono:

sell them and put the proceeds towards a HT P4

J:D

I vote for the nForce2 / Barton 2500 system

Unless you can get the mobo’s second hand for a good price (one from Deaky last week), or already have them (three I did) - then no, dual AMD’s arn’t that great value anymore w00z wise.

Putting one together is just like any other PC - but they do run quite warm
