Will probably add one or two more dual cores in the week as well

How are you enjoying that 3770? Quite a beast isn’t it?

It is indeed a beast  Im just waiting to see where the RAC will finally settle

Looking at ramping up the whole DC that it does with a nice graphics card in a month or two

Juggy are you running an overclock? What temps are you running at?

Ja, I use the Asus app to OC. Running mainly 44/45*100 as the FSB on IVY is quite fidgety.

I went as far as 4.6ghz I think with the Gigabyte app and it worked fine but had temps of around 70°C and im not sure im happy with running it at that temp…

I then went back to about 4.1 I think overnight and found that docking units only completed 7mins quicker… so again didnt really see the benafit considering the temps where around 64°C so I popped it back down to stock levels and its running at around 56°C on full load… so Ive stayed with that…

I know I need some more case fans as currently there is only two in there… one in and one out… and if im adding a graphics card i’ll defiantly need one to get rid of the extra heat

I’m running one of these coolers which does help a little http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6729

on todays list of things to do, upgrade one of the 1.8xeons to a q6600 that I got from Spaceboy what seems like weeks ago

Pee Ess, if no one noticed the host 116819 is the new 8 core socket 2011 Xeons, there are 2 in the box so a very healthy 32 thread count.

71k points returned in the last 3/4 days

so it’s you making the docking site really slow - I got 404’s when clicking on your links thanks to timeouts!!!

I did notice that beast :open_mouth:

GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU E2160 @ 1.80GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 13]

Just turned into this

GenuineIntel
Intel(R) Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz [x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11]

It’s a 24/7 machine, it’s my router in the office !!!

Being the top producing in the team is a good feeling  Also top in the UK is another good feeling too

Damn, the beast is down with a failed PERC H710 RAID controller :frowning:

:frowning: Shame about that Juggs. Easily fixable?

I was just on my way here to poke fun at you for having a low RAC and to ask if it’s a 24/7 rig and read that… Gutted for you mate. Hope it’s back online soon

Yeah, called Dell for replacement parts, they’re arriving tomorrow.

1 x Backplane
1 x H710 RAID controller
1 x Backplane to motherboard power cable
1 x Dual SAS backplane to RAID controller cable

Luckily the sevrer was a gift from Dell after they stuffed up a support situation;)

I’ll be back…

It lives, I have however moved my 3770 to Seti to push myself to 3 million just for shits and giggles…
