Docking Issues

I installed Docking last night before leaving work and I’m back today.

Loading machine up, I expect to see it working away but I keep getting the following message in BOINC manager.

09/12/2010 09:37:56 Suspending computation - CPU usage is too high
09/12/2010 09:38:08 Resuming computation

In the Preferences manager, I set it to use 50% of available CPU’s (it’s a dual core laptop, so I don’t want it overheating even though I do use it on a cooling stand). Would this be causing it?

EDIT: Just seen the option for “while CPU usage is less than…”

glad we could help

cpu usage is less than is a bit of a mare on lower power machines that a simple open of IE causes a peak in CPU usage :frowning:

Now I’m having issues on my home rig - Windows 7, trying to run Docking - 2 units ran for 8h 30m and showed no progress so I aborted. 2 this morning are 1h in and showing no progress. I’ve suspended the project in case there’s something I should have done extra?

What CPU/Chipset you running?

Magellen - Intel E5300 @ 3.20GHz ~ Gigabyte GA-73PVM-S2H ~ 4GB RAM ~ 320GB + 2TB ~ ATI 3850HD ~ Zalman Z7 ~ Windows 7 32bit

Seems to be a problem with some Intel CPU/Win 7 systems.

Here

and here… you are not alone with this problem…

Looks like my main machine will be no help then :frowning:

Works fine on my Intel + XP laptop at work

I’ve run it no prob on my Q6600/Win7-64 system. I’d have to guess it’s a software permission thing somewhere, not that that’s any help…

Not sure in what way it’s likely to be permissions. UAC is off (which seems to allow Folding services to be statered and stopped without having to click anything) and my account is admin.

My BOINC data IS in my user\Application Data\Local folder and that’s the only thing I think that could be an issue.
