just reinstalled everything after a HDD failure - been trying EVERYTHING to find and install sound drivers for the mobo. Total failure to get them to download, or when they would, to unzip, or when unzipped to install and acknowledge this.
Gave up yesterday. Switched on earlier and bumped the ‘on’ switch for the sound box…THUD!!!.. now how the hell did those get installed? I SWEAR the drivers were not installing! 
oh well. at least it works now
