She made it. Mileometer has just clicked over the 150k miles, so we celebrated by playing Montrose VERY LOUDLY!!!
Excellent!! Bit deaf now, but happy.

Well done.
I have scrapped four cars now at the ~135,000 mile mark, only one didn’t make the final journey under its own power.
Congrats on the milestone.

Excellent choice of music mate, and congrats on the 150k too
My old Porsche is just about to hit the 160K mark… and 40K of that has been done in the last 3.5 years. :driving:

No I missed that. Got a fair way to go to reach that mileage :). Bought this car in 2007 when the old 740GLE expired and I sold it on ebay. It had 86k miles on it then and I’ve averaged just over 12k miles per year in it. It only let me down once when the throttle cable snapped, other than that, just brakes and general maintenance is all I’ve done. Clutch is slightly worn and there is a niggling waterleak, other than that, all fairly OK.
:realmad: You know what they say about tempting fate. Got in the car, wen t off on the M5 to Gloucester to pick up some parts and had a rear body vibration@50mph, which got worse as I speeded up. Pulled back to Bristol into the nearest place which was a Kwikfit, found the NSR brake caliper had seized on and took the pads and discs with it.
No time to look at it myself so they fitted new caliper discs and pads. All in all cost me £417 inc VAT and a days pay cause I couldn’t work
Ouch.
I’m in the same boat for no workee=no payee and have the nearest cheap car rental company stored in my phone as a contingency.
Sometimes £30/day to sit in a Corsa is not a bad thing
You can fix a dodgy caliper with WD40 and a hammer, Bullseye/Bounceout did about 2500 miles in a Corsa with a dodgy front caliper fixed that way.
Did that with the osr caliper and a pry bar :). Just didn’t have a chance to get it home and the brake fluid was boilng with the friction
Hmmmmm… that reminds me I’ll have to replace the rear nrake pads and sort out the handbrake on the Porker before it goes the MOT in November…
