I thought I’d come by and say hello and maybe hang around for a bit.
I haven’t been on here in almost 8 years, minus logging in at some point to nerf
details and cover my digital tracks. I would have registered under a different name
as I have not used the handle “comteck” in almost as long
but that appears to be disabled.
Done a lot since I left.
Finished school.
Moved to the city.
Finished university.
Almost got killed by a bus at 80km/hr a year back and spent a month in hospital and half a year trying to get better.
I figured I should find somewhere to “land” as I am reorganising alot in my life at this point
and I remember you people being very nice
I have some spare computers (admittedly not super powerful or anything) that I should be able to set for crunching.
You have been busy!! Welcome back m8. Been getting a bit quiet around here lately, but like yourself, some older members have been popping back in to say hello.
The crunching scene has been getting quiet due to the fact that BOINC although good in some ways has taken some of the fun away from crunching. People are still doing it though and we have made some impressive numbers as a team, Look up posts in the DC section by The Fiend. I myself am only running Docking@Home and not full time either due to recent changes in my life/lack of money/very little time, that sort of thing, but I still crunch when surfing so my numbers are kept buoyant.
I’ll check with DT if you can change your handle. I’m moderating posts now, but I haven’t done anything like that before, so DT is your best port of call. Message him with your query and I’m sure he can sort you out. I’ll have a look myself when I can and message you if I can sort it.
