Researchers have found some microorganisms living miles below the Earth’s surface, and others that consume everything from hydrogen to rocks. Last year, researchers from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst found single-cell organisms that breathe iron and can survive in temperatures as high as 250 degrees Fahrenheit. :cool:
