Random question about esxi 5 and raid arrays…
I have a server with a raid array on a dedicated raid card.
If I move the raid card and disks to a new server will a fresh install of esxi be able to import the data store?
Don’t want to have to rebuild my vms.

I don’t see why it shouldn’t/wouldn’t work - the raid stuff all done by the addin card so the new install will just see it as a data store without any need to sort.
This is one of the reasons I tend to pair these cards in pairs regardless of cost when doing redundancy data stores, card goes it can be a right pain to find another card with the same controller to access the raid setup.
