Excel protection

I want to get inside a spreadsheet to see how it works so I can change it from a multi-dealership to a single dealership, but the sheets are protected and I can’t get hold of the creator as he doesn’t work for us anymore. Anyone know how to get it open please?

I don’t know how to do this, but I would attempt to open the spreadsheet with an Open Office Linux application. --Its possible that it would ignore the protection.

Advanced Office Password Recovery by elcomsoft or sommat like that. I had a copy of it and usually works wonders. It looks for the hidden backdoor passwords or gives u an option of brute force and dictionary attacks.

The trial version will allow you to see if it can recover the password, but not actually give it to you. You’ll need to pay for a license or get a ‘copy’ from somewhere

email me the sheet

Might be a wee bit late but for future ref try here. Found this when looking for Paint Shop Pro v8 and it is a goldmine of info on many subjects

For protected sheets, that add-in appears to work. For acces to VBA code, then that’s slightly different
