Firefox downloads

After seeing the other thread, I started a Trickster download (430MB). At some point, I closed the main Firefox window, and the download disappeared and never finished. I’m sure the behaviour was NOT like this in the past, where the download window stayed up and active even if the main window was closed. But now it appears to cancel any downloads if the main window is closed. I wonder if there’s a setting to change this… as I certainly didn’t change the setting.

On the plus side, I’m getting 1.5MB/s (~12Mbit/s) so it isn’t taking long to redo it

Perhaps related, the other day adblock decided to turned itself off. As far as I’m aware my system is clean. Never happened before, hasn’t happened since.

mine still leaves the download window open, so I’m guessing there’s a setting somewhere.

don’t use adblock much now I’ve installed noscript

Just had a look at my Firefox (2.0.0.11) settings, and the only download thingy I can find is at Settings/Main -‘Show downloads window when downloading a file’ and ‘Close it when all downloads are finished’, and they’re both ticked. My download window persist if I close firefox.

Soz, I would have posted a pic, but I’ve never got the hang of how really…:sigh:
