I found GTX 260s to be the best bang for the buck. I can get them for $190 while a GTX 295 is $530. The performance does not justify the cost. But I have a lot of boxes to put cards in. If you’re only buying one, you may want a faster one.
There are still some 9800GX2s going for that sort of price on fleabay , I got one and it out performs a GTX260 and better - (2 GPUs vs 1 slightly faster)
