Good old TPR counter

Do you remember the good old TPR team and personal counters? I wonder if it is worth trying to get them running again (and install 1 for Lifemapper too ;))

How much bandwidth did they kill? How much space did they need (incl. mySQL? IIRC)? Are the sources available? Who could assist to get it running?

I am thinking if it’s worth to upgrade teamphoenixrising.de to PHP/mySQL but than with bandwidth limited to 25GB/month, so we could run the long time missed counters (+Lifemapper) again. TPR identity and so on …

Your thoughts about it?

Getting an idea of bandwidth would be very difficult as they were hosted on nitRAM’s webspace which has long since met it’s sell by date :frowning:

Mincer scripted them all, whether he has a bacup of the code is another matter…

Days gone by have in fact gone by.

The days of free hosting with dot com companies just may be over.

I might have an abacus you can borrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

At the moment I have teamphoenixrising.de as an ‘additional’ domain for only 1€/month; unlimited transfer but no PHP / SQL etc.
I could upgrade to PHP/mySQL for like +10€/month but that would limit the bandwidth to 25GB/month and I have no clue if that would be enough for the counters.

Being a good IT professional, of course I have backups… :uhh:

Unfortunately I didn’t! :amstupid:

If we can find suitable hosting, I’m sure I can start cobbling it back together again though. I did start re-writing the scripts from scratch a few months ago. I have the basic fundamentals to parse the Berkeley team XML pages using PHP, I’ll see about prototyping something over the next week or so.
