is it possible to download sp2 without getting all the tracking software it has? I guess it is called tracking software. whatever it is that keeps track of where you go and what you do on the internet.
thanks in advance
SP2 has tracking software?
Not as far as I know.
Only think similiar that I know SP2 downloads is the verification patch which tells you if you have a legal copy of windows. If you do all is fine, if not, it’s only some pop ups and it can be removed if you google
Drezha is right.
Assuming you are tralking about Windows XP Service Pack 2, there is no tracking software bundled into the download.
Once you download and install, you will need to download a lot more patches. Some of these will need you to validate you copy of XP using the Genuine Advantage tool. This is a method that Microsoft uses to ensure that only true fee paying customers are able to enjoy(?) it’s full range of products. It does not track your computer use.
You have nothing to fear from installing SP2 and assuming that your copy of XP is legal, you have nothing to fear from the Genuine Advantage validation process.
Hope that helps!
SP2 (Service pack 2) is updates to the opperating system fixing problems, making things better and making things more secure.
Has nowt to do with tracking your movements.
That’s purley in the way Internet Explorer is set up and its nowt to worry about unless your up to no good which I’m sure your not!!!
If your not up on computers and the internet, we can guide you in the way’s if necessary to help protect your computer from gaining adware/spyware gained through bad surfing habbits.
But SP2 is a good thing to have installed.
