hi guys,
having just got a nice shiny new laptop and descovering it came with
vista on it i want to take a backup of the recovery partition before i repartition the drive and install ubuntu and xp. its a hidden partition and i cant think of a good way to back it up… anyone got any good ideas?
thanks
On my HP laptop there was autility to burn the partition onto cd /dvd just incase of a drive failure. What brand of laptop is yours?
from what I recall this simply uses DD to do a block copy of the entire disk.
DT.
I’ve used Ping before, which is a “recovery” linux live CDs including disk imaging software.
turns out sony had a make a recovery dvd tool so that has been run… now next step is to find xp drivers for the hardware so i can get rid of the evil vista
