Gents
just checking before I go away and build this (I’ve been a “manager” for the last 3 years and am very out of practice. Can’t remeber the last time I got my hands dirty!).
I have a well spec’d Dell 2900 that we are planning to build a compelte MS virtual infrastructure on. The host is running srv2k8 with Hyper-V. All servers will run on this box and several clients will connect on the physical network to them.
In addition there’s a DSL modem/router that will be connected to a virtual ISA server running on the host.
Given this I think I need the following in terms of virtual networking:
1 external network setup to the NIC that has the DSL line attached
1 external network for connection to the physical LAN for hte clients to be able to connect to the servers
1 private VM network for the ISA to be able to connect to the other VMs.
Does that sound about right? The server currently has 6 NICs so I’ve got plenty of flexibity.
cheers
