I broke it again ffs
Loom this time
It must be a New Year thing, getting the year in with a BANG
The Galaxy Turbo was great until last week, zipping about all over then it went POP and threw out all the coolant.
Not a huge problem, find a new hose, clip it on and all will be good ?
No.
The Top hose split, just degraded and vented straight up, green shit everywhere.
In any other car this would be a Karcher moment and move on.
However, the gearbox has a breather hose which points straight at the hose split point.
The gearbox has gone into limited mode, being a Powershift auto it is a ticking time-bom by its design.
I think the burst hose has vented into the gearbox and effectively “Cut the Green wire”
It may be just low voltage though. lets see what a few hours charging does for its well being.
I changed the battery a couple of weeks ago, the previous one was four years old and was reporting low voltage.
You bought a ford ?
I had a Silver Galaxy from new, I do in fact still have it but its awaiting a grisly end.
To be fair, much of it was VW/Audi with a Mazda Engine.
Ford made the blue Oval, most of the blue paint fell off the badge but the important bits of it mostly just worked.
The recent purchase, has Full leather, and the S-Max 203 bhp engine but is nowhere near as driveable.
Imagine a Cow on Roller skates on a bouncy castle being ridden by Zebedee off the Magic roundabout…
I may have a temperature today.
On paper it is brisk for a tubby thing on stilts but not much fun, eve less so now the PowerShift gearbox has dropped the “f” from its product name.
There is a superchip upgrade for 250Bhp but there is no point at all, it would spend all day setting off the traction control and when you finally got a shift on… It would fall over at the next bend.
It is comfortable and Holly does not get backache driving it, a tremendous win in my book.
This delivered the missing magic the Shogun posessed, pace and comfort, now departed to Cube heaven or ragging about in Ukraine with the crash damage under a camo paint job.
I used to use a PC Ford specific diagnostic tool call FORscan and paid for a full license.
Laptop with a generic USB dongle and access to quite a lot of the Unit tests, great stuff.
I went to download the latest version and found license sales have been suspended due to Russian sanctions What's new
Not so sure I will be using that again.
Anyway, the Turbo Wobble-bus is back in the game.
Still drives like a cow on roller-skates but the Made in Taiwan DaiYung-Ditchfinders have a lot to do with that.
