given that the zalaman thingy isnt really suitable i thought i would see what you orrible lot recomend
i have an xp2000 on an nforce 2 mobo no holes for mounting heavy heatsinks. i am looking for a cooler that isnt to expencive but will keep my temps nice n low. recomendations?

I had great success in the farm using the copper Jet thingies with the blue blower type fans and speed control. They are pretty quiet at medium RPM settings but could do with just a bit of lapping for flatness.
The Zalmans are great but do require holes and are really quiet.
the £7 from ebuyer coolermaster suitable for xp3200 have done me fine even with the high ambients in the loft on heavily clocked and voltage increased rigs. I may be offloading a WC kit soon, you can pay more for a heatsink now adays than what some basic watercooling costs. Give me a few days to work out what’s going where, otherwise look at the coolermaster cheapo with a nice big copper core and 80mm fan.

i have water cooling kit for soket A but with my motherboard not having holes in it i cant use it :’( will look into the coolmaster stuff, thanks
the kit I have is currently on a board with no holes, got one of those fangled clever clips that can attach to just about anything. The name escapes me but its the cheaper one on cpucity.

Have to agree on those cheapo coolermaster jobs…used them many times on customers rigs and never had a prob with heat on them…cheap, quiet and good at the job
DT you have given me an idea, i have a full water cooling kit her but i cant use the waterblock on my mobo, so… if anyone has a waterblock that i can fit to my mobo with the little clip and would like to trade for a waterblock that requires the holes then we could be onto a winner…
i also foundthis which if nothing else gives a good example of what i mean when i say i need something that doest require those pesky holes
