I'm Crunching again

I stopped crunching when I hit 10,000 on SETI Classic. I didn’t jump into BOINC right away because it seemed like people were reporting a lot of bugs.

I’ve got both threads on a 3GHz Pentium 4 crunching SETI at 100%.

I’ve got a second machine sharing SETI and LHC.

Hopefully we can see some improvement on our team stats.

Fan-tiddly-astic Tom!

Welcome back!! Great to hear you are crunching again

Welcome back Tom - Folding@home is the way to go

:stuck_out_tongue:

I was originally looking for BOINC projects because of the way that they can “share” …schedule/prioritize themselves. I can work around that.

If I download the gui version of Folding@home, can I kill the gui and still have it crunch? (or should I just download the console version right off the bat?)

No matter which version I download, it will be running on Windows XP with a dial-up connection. (My home is one mountain range away from broadband.)

now that has to be the coolest reason for not getting broadband

I’m a Folding man - but you stick with the project you believe and want to help with is my take on it - of course if you did decide Folding we would welcome it with open arms  The console version of Folding with “fah502-console -config” sets it all up and the advanced options in there are great, including the auto install as a service - that rocks :headbang:

DT.

Folding is running. I think I joined our team. I loved the information in the FAQ:

To join a team, enter the team number at the first time you run the client (for text console versions).

…This sounds as bad as the code that I hack together! Of course, I ran the console before I read the FAQ. I think I put our team number (315) in all of the right places.
