just legalised XP

OK, naughty of me. anyway, just installed XP and sent it off for upgrades.

its been downloading for an hour, its 42% done, and its running 2 meg broadband! whats that in MB’s?

and once that lot is done, there is normally a few more to update the security risks in the fixes

DT.

Indeed, don’t think its over after the first update

I think the service pack is 200megs ?

and then the pack to fix the pack is probably another 150 lmao

autopatcher…

Linux … one pass fixes all!

Once you’ve figured out what to do :stuck_out_tongue:

cynics. how could you all be so jaded about uncle Bills finest?

Probibly Service Pack 2, unles you CD is really old, then is Service pack 1.

Just not Service pack 2 will auto turn on XP’s own firewall.

Actually, just SP2 will download being it has all of the SP1 updates and the SP2 supplements  thus why it is larger than SP1 to d/l

2 meg = 240 ish kb/sec *60^2=864000kb or 864 megs ish.

Thats a whole OS full…

well it ran a few hours yesterday, rebooted, did another hour, rebooted, and now its been going since 8pm last night and is 24% done! broadband speed is alternating between 9-18 Mbps. and its pulled 53Meg.

Think i need to check signal strength. but so long as its running, its crunching predictor too.
