Having played and enjoyed the other lego games Nicki got this for her birthday from me.
We have the PC version,
From the first time we played it there was problems, it doesn’t like the realtek AC97 soundcard so you have to turn down the hardware acceleration to get it to run smoother (had this previously with the lego batman and indiana 2 games also)
Then onto the game play, this game is basically a if it isn’t broke don’t fix it copy of Lego Batman a few characters with unlockable powers. The two player works well with the screen splitting like in previous lego games.
As the game progressed we hit a bad point, got into a room and it just went completely black, still had sound but black screen. Tried again and the room didn’t load, constantly fell into oblivion as there was no floor! Since then we’ve read reviews all over of random crashes throughout the game over many different consoles also.
The only thing we have found to try sort the problems is to turn everthing off on the pc version but that makes it look terrible! This was advice from someone had contacted travellers tales… the makers of the game!
Overall rating: DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNTIL THERE IS A PATCH!
