OK - running the screensaver version, got a unit sat at 100% and it wont go to the server or get me a new one 
Anyone else suffering the same ??
Wanted to check before I delete the packet to get a new one.

I don’t know much about the current screensaver version. I do remember you need to run two instances on it as each one won’t take 100% processor time even if the machine is otherwise idle.
Question DT, why are you running the screensaver version? Doesn’t it take five times as long to do a job packet? You mentioned it’s on your laptop. I have the CLI running on my IBM Thinkpad. There is a pointer in the startup folder to a .bat file that calls up the command line and sets the parameters.
DT, seems the reason for not being able to upload or d/load units is there sever being slow or having an error, you can check the staus of the server HERE
a good reason to run the cli with a decent sized cache

running the gui as its pretty and I prefer the fact that it only uses 95% cpu. No real technical reason I just like it because then the cpu fan is not on all the time.
I’ve not put Seti on the lappy even though I said I would. Thanks for the server status link, thats probably all it is - just going to try now…

still no joy - hey ho the lappy is in hibernate most of the time at the moment and only the machines in the loft are running due to the heat. Thing is - its not even hot yet.

It looks like the Lifemapper site went down at 3:30 AM Kansas time. I guess we will have to wait for those college people to get up Sunday morning after Saturday night. It just might be a few hours before their eyeballs point in the same direction and their brains revive.
