The sports car company Morgan is making 15 limited edition race cars: its most expensive model yet with a price tag of £72,500.
The company has teamed up with Aero Racing, manufacturers of two Morgan Aero 8s currently enjoying success in the British GT Cup Class Championship, to create the replicas.
The Morgan Motor Company, based in Malvern, has a history of producing classic racing cars.
The company said the launch of the limited edition Aero 8 GT Coupé was aimed at “connoisseurs of fine driving”.
The 15 numbered cars will be hand built at Morgan’s Worcestershire factory.
Managing director Charles Morgan said: “We have always tried to bring customers special developments from the race track, and this car is a superb example.”
The Aero 8 GT Coupés will be finished by Aero Racing to a specification which includes a 4.6 litre BMW engine and a carbon fibre hard-top.
The cars will be in the Morgan race team colours of dark blue and silver.
The UK retail price is £72,500 while a soft-top option is available at an additional cost of £2,000.

(originally by Glenn Miller)
Hey there, pal, whatcha say?
Step aside partner, it’s my day
Bend an ear and listen to my version
Of a Lowfield excursion
Pardon me boys, is that the Saratoga Choo-Choo…
Follow the A49
She is running on time
When you hear the whistle blowing eight to the bar
Then you know that Peugeots gone far
Pass me coat, its the one with half a packet of Werthers in the pocket
