… has anyone done it? I have just bought a compatible tv card off ebay and am gathering up some “spare bits” to give it a go… it seems as simple as installing a compatible distro (Fedora is my choice), getting any hardware sorted and then installing MythTV over the top.
I’m considering getting another cheapo tv card so I can have two inbound streams… means I could record one channel and watch another
Haven’t done it myself - it’s “on the list” for my TV shuttle.
I’ve heard it can be a bit of a cow to configure but there are many happy users.
Let us know how you get on
This looks like the nearest thing to a HOW-TO I’ve ever seen m8
Coincidentally enough, that was one of the guides I was reading yesterday… the www.mythtv.org site has some good stuff on it too

Might be some use, MythTV is not your only option.
