Now running SandyBridge

This little present to myself arrived yesterday

Aria SandyBridge DT Build

It has replaced a Q6700 with 8Gb ram and GTX460 gpu. A full set of pictures etc is on the way, but OMG it’s a sweet machine. Really liking EFI bios, boot time even with three sata controllers is sweet  Overclocking … wow, what can I say, 4.5Ghz with ease, 5Ghz at a push.

More importantly, HFM.net is estimate 30-35 thousand ppd in folding at home  Even with that running, the four VM’s and my work stuff, I now have snappy virtual machines as I can add a gig more to each one and two gig to the important one. 16Gb of ram, there was a point where I would have laughed so hard if you told me you had built a machine with that much, how things have moved on

DT.

What are you going to do about the SATA issue?

DT got the B3 revision of the chipset  thats not affected by the issue.

yup, I waited for the B3 and pretty much got it to day it came out

That’s a first for me, normally I let others find fault for a few months before I buy
