Online DVD rentals

Well, I thought I’d write a min review of the service I’ve been getting from ScreenSelect after joining on the trial month using Muppets freeIpod link.

Well, I’m impressed. I figured after sending a DVD back it would take ages to receive the next one, but normal turn around is two working days. I’ve managed 6 dvd’s in my trial month, and that included one we had for over a week as it was a childrens series (Narnia) which we let the kids watch in stages.

It takes a while for the recommendations to actually fit what you want, but overall I find most of the DVD’s that I want from the recommendations. And that includes the entire family taste, from comedy (Stepford Wives) to the extremes of Disney for the kids. I had planned to do the trial from as many of these places as possible, but tbh I’m liking this one so much I’m going to stay. The £9.99 per month for a single DVD at a time I would imagine is fine for most people unless all you do is sit and watch DVD’s. If you get the send timing right - to receive the DVD on a Friday or Saturday it’s perfect.

And because I’m a big tart http://www.freeipods.com/?r=19375816 my link  But even if you don’t use the link I’m not bothered. Another big  for the internet, I hated trawling over town to BlockBusters, this is a great solution

so whats the choice like mate ?? upto date DVD’s or a bit behind ?? is it free postage back etc ??

Might have a looksy… any free trials left or is it one month free trial for everyone?

I tryed one before but they tryed to get me to pay for 2months…that was a free trial…even threatend me with bailifs :open_mouth:

the choice is very large, not just the latest big releases but comedy DVD’s, BBC dvd’s. You don’t pay a penny for postage, every DVD comes in a returnable freepost thing. You don’t get the full dvd case just a slimline case with the DVD in it, but that’s all you need really and keeps the weight to that of a normal letter.

I think it’ll be a few months before I start to run out of choices, and you can pre-order items in cinema now so you can hope to get them as soon as they are released on DVD.

A great alternative for those in the States is NetFlix. Everything that DT has said about his. I’m in the middle of the second season of MASH dvd’s. They have all 8 seasons. New movies are available the day they are released and you can pre-order for not-yet-released movies as well.

Thanx DT just signed up  so far so good just ading som beasts to the want list  forgot to sign up through your link :frowning: sorry…
