pretty quiet

Hi Lucifer  Been like this for a while now. As others have said with BOINC doing a lot more of the work for us, there isn’t as much tweaking and playing with the various projects as there was in the earlier days of TPR. Also a lot of people have moved onto other social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and that is taking up a lot of their time.

Its a shame really, but change is a natural progression in the world and the bulletin board format has been overtaken by others. Also people change and move away from sites to ones that suit their current interests. I’m the same in that I don’t spend as much time on the TPR site, but I do on a game site with TPR members in it. I pop back here to moderate posts and to check for any new posts from members to see whats going on in their world. We are still a team and I don’t want to ignore people who have committed time and experience towards TPR and its members and in doing so have helped me with past issues and projects. That’s what this community is about, working together and sharing knowledge.

I’m not sure of the future. but I will be here to see it through. You don’t commit 11 years of your life to something just to drop it without good reason and I will be here to chat with members until someone says “STOP”.

Cheers

Nice reply dude, I hate facebook, nothing but trouble for me in the past.

Started crunching again will have a few computers up by end of week.

Hows life been?

standard UK stuff I for me mate, cold, wet, windy

Crunching, down to one dedicated cruncher now - and that’s on GPUgrid and WCG as they seem to require no maintenance at all. Got some interesting hardware coming my way soon, quite capable of a 200W farm of about 40cores in total, but would need to compile my own boinc stuff, so would have to be seti on those. It might happen…

Anyone tried bitcoin mining?

I looked into it, especially with the hint of making some money back from it - didn’t grab me though

I’m doing OK, same as DT though, British weather for us to moan about, lack of money, but still about and so far, still solvent

Nice to hear you’re crunching again m8. I have two machines that crunch when I’m home, but can’t afford the electricity to keep them on 24/7 like I used to.

How’s things down under?

 at the british weather comments, as for here, crunching is down to 0, i currently have 3 computers in the house, none of them work or are worth fixing ;( one laptop for social stuff. i’m sure quite a few members who used to love crunching and tweaking like myself have unfortunately grown up. i’d love to still have the enthusiasm to crunch tweak and play but finance is now the issue now living in my own place with my wife (gah too much grown up stuff!)
Still reminisce of mojo’s and the good friends that are on here.
So how are things down under?

yeh things are ok down under apart from cheap living is at an end now lol
Working on the mines for last couple of years which is 2 weeks away 1 week at home, pays well but bit shitty being away.
Other wise its all good, just coming into winter here now, freezing my ass off.
Just flew back yesterday.
