Printer Sharing - To Linux

I’m trying to setup printer sharing for my laptop and my main rig.

My laptop is Windows XP and my PC is linux.

I can see the printer in XP (ie, it’s shared in my Samba conf).
However when I try to add it as a printer in the Control panel it says I need to install drivers then it connects to the linux machine, says I have the wrong drivers and then makes me look for a disc. I insert the printer driver disc and it cant find a .dll on the CD and stops.

What annoies me is the drivers must already be installed because I can quite happily print if the laptop is plugged into the printer.:furious:

Am I doing anything wrong?

try that buddy

I don’t F*ing believe that…

I start up the Vmware image to try it out and this time the Vmware detects the printer attached.

Though for the laptop, I cant get it working. It cant find the right printer or something and after installing, I cant find any of the files it wants. :frowning:

Currently it’s not to bad if the Vmware can print but I’ll look into it some more.
